journey to "find" my hair has been a long and at times, difficult

TREATMENT |

The
following chronicles my progress since my Hair Transplant with Dr.
Jerry Wong of
Hasson &
Wong, Vancouver, B.C., Canada. The surgery, during which I
received
2484 follicular units (FUs, for those of you "in the
know"), commenced on
November 19, 2002.  | |

I have to admit, I'm feeling pretty good these
days.
After years of hiding my "old style plugs" that
date back to 1979, I can finally feel comfortable with my
appearance. |

| Two and Four
Months |
 |
The following pre-digital images are taken at 2
and 4 months. While growth is evident, the period through the
first 4 months can be a bit of a challenge. It requires
patience while dealing with ingrown hairs and post-op
redness. |

| Don't Be
Frightened! |
 |
While my redness lasted far longer than the
average, the high contrast in these pics (especially month 4,
on the right) makes it appear worse that it actually was. By
month five, it was completely gone. |

| Six and Eight
Months |
 |
The following 6 and 8 month images illustrate
that the process was indeed worth the wait.
The redness
is now history, as is the rash of ingrown hairs. We are now
getting a sense of what the final "product" will
be. |

| Oh, That
Dogged Bald Spot |
 |
While I didn't have grafts inserted into the
crown, I did in the area above. This, as it fills in, will
create a smaller bald area that may be just a little easier to
live with. |

evident here.
Framing the face properly is
essential to a natural look. |

| Hairline at
One Year |
 |
The hairline density at one year, as well as the
overall density has subtly increased since 8 months.
The
hair has become somewhat more combeable. I'm just about at the
point where I can be "Dressed Up" and "Taken
Out". |

| The
Crown |
 |
This is essentially what remains of my
baldness.
The "Jerry Wong Whorl" planted in the center
of
"the spot" would be a nice touch in my
opinion...

The genius of the LATERAL
SLIT allows the single haired grafts to appear as if they
