Dutasteride - aka GI198745 is a oral drug made by Glaxo Welcome. Dutasteride works in a similar way to Propecia by inhibiting the 5 Alpha Reductase enzyme that converts testostereone to DHT. Unlike Propecia however, Dutasteride inhibits both Type 1 and Type 2 of the enzyme, it also inhibits more Type 2 than Propecia does. What this means is that this will be a lot more effective than Propecia since almost complete DHT inhibition is achieved.
