Hairlosshelp
recently sent its resident hair transplant reporter, Peter
Mac, to cover the 2003 Aegean Masters Conference held in
Greece.
The Aegean Masters meeting took place from June 1 through
June 7, 2003 and was held both on board a private yacht
and at the DHI clinic in Athens.
The
meeting began at the DHI Clinic in Athens on June 1st with
a demonstration by Dr. John Cole of a 2000 graft mega
session utilizing the
new Follicular Isolation Technique (FIT).
The day ended with a
traditional Greek dinner held at the classic Athenian
taverna "Karavitis" with
plentiful wine, ouzo and some Greek dancing.
The
next morning the yacht, complete with crew and attendees
from the USA, France, Italy, Germany, UK, Spain, Cyprus,
Korea,
Australia,
and Greece, as well as the FIT
patient, left on a 4 day Greek island
cruise.
During
the next 4 days while cruising the Aegean sea and
visiting islands like Aigina, Poros, Spestes, Hydra and
Agistri, the
attendees participated in 3 days of presentations and discussions
about the latest hair transplant techniques.
After
returning to port, the remaining 2 days were spent
at the DHI Clinic in Athens where several hair transplant
procedures
were performed by the participating physicians.
The
highlight of the meeting were the demonstrations by Dr
John Cole of his FIT technique. Attendees were able to
witness the rapid healing of a FIT patient who was operated
on during the first day of the meeting, and then cruised
the islands along with the participating physicians so
they could monitor his post surgery healing.
