Squipp is making a drug cyoctol, apprently it is not an antiandrogen but blocks DHT from binding from hair follicles. Ive read that out of 20 patiens with MPB, an average of 21% hair GROWTH was found over one year. This is a pretty big deal. Does anyone know anything more about this drug. Please let me know.

Surprisingly yes, I do know a little about it - but it's VERY little.

A number of years back (don't remember how many, but it was before Rogaine was commercially available) a small pharmaceutical company by the name of Chantal developed the drug. The initial reports were very, very promising, and I remember seeing some before and after photos which were VERY impressive. Inexplicably, the clinical trials were abruptly terminated. I tried to contact the company, but had no luck in doing so. I have a vague recollection that either the company or the rights to this drug were purchased by another company, but don't quote me on that...

well if any company did purchase it,, it was squipp. Hmmm... if it worked back then so well.. why isnt it out now. Its probably becuase it dosent work to well or has terrible side effects.. side effects so bad people were just paid off to keep thier mouth shut. I bet theres a prison some where with people who used this drug who are all demented and messed up looking. ...?@@!#

If it worked that well, then it must sure have done SOMETHING to get the lid back on it.

Rogaine was approved in August, 1988, and was available in October of that year. I was made aware of Cyoctol sometime around 1980.

The hangups in the fda trials likely could've had something to do with the class action suit that chantal got hit with for bad accounting in 96
