Hello all.
I had several bad bad surgeries performed in the 90s by a large chain clinic and was so sorry I did it. I thought I would just put it all behind me but as I lost more of my regular hair the old grafts became more and more obvious. I didn't want to do another procedure, and even after I visited with several doctors in the DC area they told me there was nothing they could do. NOTHING! One of my freinds at work came in afer a vaction wearing a hat, which he never does, and I jokingly asked him if he had a transplant. He said he did! When I looked at it I couldn't believe what it looked like. It looked nothing like what I had on my head. It looked like he had all his hair but just shaved it. When he told me he did the surgery only a week before I couldn't believe it. When I did my transplants you'd think my head went through a stripping machine.

I asked who his doctor was and he said it was Dr. Lindsey in Virginia. I begged for his number and called to make a consultation. I figured he would turn me away like the other doctors, but he didn't. Far from it. He chuckled and said he could work around my old donor scars and get me about 1500 grafts. I was thrilled.

The day of surgery was 10 times better than my other experiences and I have to say his staff were the best and kindest people. Wendy, his head tech, is a pleasure and she and the good doctor told jokes the whole way through. No pain , except for the injections to numb the skin. After that, no pain at all. The best part was that he got 2,100 grafts out of my donor rather than 1500 grafts.

My surgery took about 6 hours, but in the end it looked like my friend's surgery (mostly) and he didn't even put a bandage on me. In the other clinic I had been to they wrapped my head like king tut. But here there was no bandage.

I have nothing but praise for Dr. Lindsey and his staff and would highly recommend him to anybody who wants to get fixed or just for their first hair transplant.

I will ask Wendy or the doc to put up my photos when they get a chance.

If anyone has any questions about my hair transplant please feel free to ask.

Question.

2100 seemed like a small amount to cover a large area. Was there a financial restriction to getting a larger session?

It appears you may be thinking of a comb-over approach, is that right??

Id like to know the reason for that particular graft placement (& small amount)

Good healing to you.

best,
