Guys I'm having a good day. I won't go into details, but because of some general crazyness in my life I dropped out of high school when I was 18. For the past 2 years I've been going to evening school and today I graduated. I know a high school diploma doesn't mean much, but the first year we started with a group of 35. 20 of those dropped out and I'm one of 6 to get the diploma. That's what makes it so special (for me). I'm so proud because 4 years ago I was a f-up dope fiend and my life has just changed so much. I'll be going to uni next year to study germanistics.

Zwar, congratulations. And don't ever think that "it's just a high school diploma". You set a goal for yourself, and you accomplished it. Knowledge is power, my friend. Best of luck in college.

wow great news man
I was also a high school stoner, now I have an MA
but be careful picking your major, while its good to pick something you are passionate about also think about how you can get a job!!!
I got an MA in what I wanted, but its been VVEEERRRYYYY hard to make a career out of it
anyways, good luck bro...keep it up!! Its easy to balance partying and getting good grades. I got a 4.0 the semester I partied the most. Just always set aside a few quiet hours for study, the rest of the time you can go balistic!! Man, I envy you; I wish I was going back to college!!! Have a great time and score all the chicks you can!!!

its nice to overcome something like that..

i was a junkie from the age of 17 till 27...pot, acid, X, coke, LSD, you name it...the worst were the f*$king pain pills... at the end of the burn i had lost my friends and my girl of 5 years...luckily i managed to keep my job as a stock trader (thats where the coke came in handy)

almost a year sober from all that shit... i get depressed about my hair still, but i am happy to be off the junk!!

congrats on the diploma and good luck at college!!

Well maybe it's not a common word, but I looked it up in the dictionary (geRmanistics it is btw). GeRmanistics is the study of germanic languages (English, Dutch and German).
