For 15 years I knew hair replacement for myself was immanent, and I hung in as long as possible. I am really enthused by the results and the experience I had. I found the procedure a breeze and really love the artistry of my doctor. His results crushed the doctors I had consultations with in Pennsylvania. I know it's early, but I thought I would share my progress to help out anyone that may be  feeling angst.   At 43 it's awsome bringing my hairline back to where it was at 25. It's only been three weeks, but I can't wait to go again.

So far it's been a great experience, great staff, clear communication and follow through. Other doctors I saw wanted to milk the situation. Dr. Bolton got right to it. He clearly defines how much hair he moves by the size of the donor strip and at a reasonable cost. I have no reason to think these graphs won't take. So for three weeks into it, I highly recommend him. Stay tunned...

lavo do you have any pre-op pics?

as for recommendations, I think the mark of a good surgeon is in the resulting hair growth, more than how comfortably the surgery went,

the evidence will speak for itself in a few months, that's all that counts,
I hope it all goes well for you

You cant wait to go again? I dont understand . If he did such a great job you should not have to go again. I do indeed wish you the best . 3 weeks out is too soon to make a recommendation IMO

Cool guys, I will heed your warnings and thanks for the support. I am really optimistic because I feel a dodged a bullet as far as going to my local doctor saving time and money. I look forward to going again because I know I want density, and I found the process a lot easier than expected. Plus I want to make some adjustments on the hairline. As far as some of the scarring I have read about, my scalp already looks smooth. So I am encouraged.  As long as these things take, I am going to be a happy camper.

Who knows, maybe I am just a cynic, but this guy seems like he is a shill for this doctor. His comments just seem a little odd and don't seem like they are coming from a legitimate patient as much as someone who has some vested interest with this doctor.

His comments " At 43 it's awsome bring my hairline back to where it was at 25. It's only been three weeks, but I can't wait to go again.".....just seem a little odd to say the least.

At three weeks, you obviously aren't anywhere near where you would see the final results.....but you are already to jump in the chair and have another procedure???? In the previous sentence you say how pumped up you are to have the hairline of a 25 year old again.......well if that is the case how are you so ready to run and have another procedure again?

"His results crushed the doctors I had consultations with in Pennsylvania."
Again, how do you know his results if you are only 3 weeks out???? I think I smell something very fishy here.

I can see the hair that was transfered and I can clearly see how it it's going to look. I loved the result, and I liked the doctor. Maybe I was over enthused by my widows peak lol.Straight dark hair like mine won't look dense with just one procedure so I want to go again asap. I really want to see the final end result and I found it to be pretty much painless. I am from pittsburgh and have zero affiliation with Dr. Bolton. He was recommended by a friend, and I took the chance flying down there based on his samples and the fact he was going to give me double the amount of graphs for about the same price as my local guy Dr. Brandi. A doctor who was going to milk me like so many of these other guys!! It was a scary move for me, but the post result put me in a very enthusiastic place. I looked for a message board to share (my so far) great experience. But this seems to be a place for lads to vent over negative HT experiences. Lets see what my hair does in 9 months and I will post some new pics. If the graphs don't produce I can join in and be as sour and miserable as some these other poor fellas. Don't believe me?  PM me, we can be facebook buddies. I have NOTHING to do with hair replacement, I am a storyboard artist.

looking at the scabs from the pics and it looks like there is a TON of space between the grafts. I cannot imagine this being a natural look once it grows in. The grafts appear to be placed in a straight line along the hairline...just like my mini-grafts from my early work. Trust me, they don't look natural.

Chonger, your right. Dark, straight, medium thin hair is a challenging case. When doing graphs, there is a limit to how much you can put into a square inch. If it's over done, the area gets to chewed up messing with blood supply and all graphs don't take. So I went in thinking it's like getting braces. It will take two years and two sessions to get a more  natural density.  The most growth is supposed to happen from 3-5months. Right now I am at 2.5 months, I would say 40% of the graphs are growing. Some of the postitives: The hair at the base where it comes out of the scalp looks completely natural and undetectable.  The negatives: Where you get graphs into your existing hair, it causes some hair loss. I noticed a good bit of shedding to my "island" area from about week 4- week 8.  Not sure if that hair comes back, or it's just hair that was destined to fall out and it isn't coming back.  I always knew that was a possible side effect for some people so I was very attuned to watching out for it.
