Hiya,

I'm not 100% sure yet whether to go for a ht or not since this is a quite big and lifelong decision. anyway, knowing more about reputable surgeons can definitely not hurt; so, i've just spent a couple of moments ;-) and compiled an alphabetical mini directory of big names and their techniques. hope, that's also helpful for others as a start for further research.

it would be great if anybody could complete the list to make it more comprehensive

I would remove these doctors from your list:

Bazan
Gho
Shiell

Otherwise it is a fairly solid list.

I agree. I'd also remove Armani. I don't like his hairlines at all. Way too linear & neat & too densely packed.

I'm entitled to my opinion just like everyone else! Anyone with a moderately critical eye can see that Armani's hairlines do not look at all good in the majority of cases.

I have to agree, removing Armani on the basis of personal taste rather than credentials i.e. top surgeon, widespread recognition in the industry for his work and more importantly a lot of v happy patients seems a bit harsh to say the least!!

I've never had a HT, relatively early in research but spent enough time on these sites to understand the respect he commands.

totally disagree....i've been researching for many years...Armani has some of the best hairlines out there (based on pics alone).....no way is this statement even close to being accurate/substantiated (where's your examples?)

just curious how many of you guys have seen dr armani patients in person?  not someone that works for them but a customer.  i tried but gave up trying to find 1 that will show off his ht.  i've seen bernstein, feller, elliot, true, hasson, wong, seager, bosley & mhr,  but no armanis.  how do they look in person?

Leaving any emotional aspects aside - are there any other top surgeons on this planet that might be worth mentioning on this list?

I have seen about 2 dozen in person from Bernstein, Feller, True - Dorin, H&W,MHR and Shapiro. Based upon that I would say that Feller, H&W and Shapiro could all do a great job. It depends on objectives and preference. I won't comment on any other docs because I have not seen any in person. Cole, Armani, Rahal in addition to the 3 I recommended above have very big followings as you can tell by reading the posts on this board. FYI I chose Feller. Good luck

...some more names that I found in this forum and which might be worth being added to the list:

Dr. Robert True & Dorin, FUT, FUE, www.truedorin.com, New York

Dr. Michael Beehner , FUT, multiple FU www.saratogahair.com - Syracuse, New York

Dr. Christopher A. Gencheff, FUT, FUE, www.midwestrealhair.com - Wisconsin/Illinois

Dr James DeYarman - FUT, www.deyarmanmedical.com, La Jolla, California

Definitely NOT DeYarman, Truthfinder. You don't have to look too hard to find unhappy DeYarman patients!

Schmokin, thanks for your feedback.

I'm sure that there will always be people who are not happy with other people's work - we all know that nobody is perfect and simply might have a bad day which keeps us from doing outstanding work all the time.

Quite often it might also be a lack of communication that patients are disappointed - they might have unrealistic expectations. They weren't aware of certain things. Or maybe, surgeons didn't make things clear. And of course, there are also surgeons out there who simply do HT to first of all get on the gravy train no matter what the result might look like.

I am not in the position to judge anybody here. However, I know that for building a reputation it often takes a very long time. For losing a reputation it often takes just seconds.

Truthfinder - what information and criteria are you using when choosing to add certain Dr's to the list of "OUTSTANDING" surgeons?

I don't think Deyarman, Gencheff, Haber are at the level of most of the great surgeons on your list. You seem to be adding names almost arbitrarily which defeats the purpose of your "OUTSTANDING" surgeon list.

You also seem to have a lot of incorrect info. For example you say Dr. Nakatsui performs FUE only. I don't think he does FUE, but he does strip from what I recall. Are you aware of the various HT terminology (FU, FUSS, Strip, FUE, FIT, etc)?

you've never heard of them because the only research you've done is looking at pictures from the small number of clinics who maintain a large presence on this board. actually, if you dig a bit, Alexander has some nice results posted here. if you knew more about FUE, Harris's name would come up, and Haber is doing quality work in Ohio.
