I supposedly have PCOS, and am on spirolactone. Two years ago, I noticed lots of shedding, and my hair looked thinner all over. i've since seen dermatologists who haven't said much, but because of acne, and possible hair loss, I'm on that drug. Now I've noticed lots of less shedding, but every day a few little hairs, 1-2 cm that are lighter brown and significantly thinner than my coarse hair show up in my comb. I"m just wondeirng if someone can tell me if its normal to have a few of those vellus hairs in your head, or if that's miniaturization, or if you think that spiroalctone can reverse those, or if that sounds normal to have some of those . my husband says it's normal, but they're so darn thin!!!

The Catagen and Telogen phase hairs would of course be miniaturized. You are going to have a percentage of hairs in these phases at any given time. The question is what percentage do you have? To high a percentage means disease.
