Hi, I just joined this community because I am continuously losing a lot of hair and it's worrying me....it is really affecting the way I wear my hair and have to style it...I really can't do anything anymore but leave it down after blow drying my hair...I can't even really put it up because it just doesn't look right where the hair meets the forehead. I have a receeding hairline right now and I hate it! AND the woman that replied to your forum was 27...I'm 18 and am going to college...

The main reason for my stress was the amount of stress I felt during my senior year. I believe it all started last year when I was running for my school senate president, me losing that campaign, me being editor in chief for the school newspaper, and having to experience the death of my grandmother at the same time...and then the death of my uncle.

But during the summer my hair was fine...it was when I started school that my hair line started to be a little weird...But it was about in the winter that I just couldn't put my hair up anymore because I was afriad of putting stress on my hair line and because it just didn't look normal to me anymore...Right now, my school year is finally ending and I feel less stressed. However, I am a naturally worked up person and am currently seeing a therapist just to vent and talk about the stresses in my life...my dermatologist couldn't help me but referred me to a hair specialist (apparently, the only one in Massachusetts) and it's been almost 4 months and I haven't been able to set an appointment with her (the next available one was in Sep. and I'll be away at college).

Can anyone please help me? did your hair loss experience improve? If so, how? What did you do? Do you have any suggestions for me and my situation? I'm defintely going to take yoga this summer to relax....I hear it takes about a year for it to get better...I'm just worried that my hair will never get better....

I would suggest you go to your doctor and get some blood tests done to check if everything is ok. For instance this could be a thyroid problem or pcos. It doesn't hurt to try!

Hi, i just read your notice and i know exactly how you feel. I'm 24 but started loosing my hair at 18. I didnt really notice at first but after a while it became really noticable, especially when i had jus been showered, my har would come out in clumps. Anyway, i went to a dermatologist and they tested me for various things, such as PCOS and thyroid. After they all came back clear he suggested that i go and see a trichologist. i did and now 6 years on i am still going to see her every two months. She diagnosed me with Female Pattern Baldness and i am now treated by topical hormonal teatment. Dont get me wrong its not completely fixed but its so much better than it was. its now only stubburn at the crown of my head.

All i can say to you is dont give up, keep at it, it can get better.

Shave your head, this could be the starting point for baldness in women too become socially acceptable? After all!! that's the crap that women tell men who unfortunately have the same problem as you. Yeah it sucks big time don't it?

So if it hurts you..........why throw it on someone else?

She isn't a woman that's ever told you that. She just came here for an answer like everyone else.

Your hair loss is nothing compared to a woman's.

Oh God, i know how you feel. I mean, im 19 years and i've started losing my hair since i was 15years. Initially, i didn't really think much of it, but then people started commenting, asking me if i was balding. That was when i begun to realize that i was seriously losing my hair. I want back my hair so bad..Gosh, its really torturous being so self conscious as to whether the balding spots are seen. I didnt' want anyone to know you know, but damn its like its so obvious. I wish you all the best but you need courage to overcome it. It's been 4 years for me and there is still no improvement. I'm only wishing God would do something. Aye...

i am 20 years old and already have thinning areas ): i know it sucks, and i took a risk and bought this stuff called nulockz. It really helped me. I have been using it for about a month now, and am seeing great results. my hair is getting thicker and fuller, and let me tell you i thought my hair was HELPLESS. So i'm sure it would do wonders on your hair!

i second SjLeMac09's notion on nulockz. I used it an within a month was showing hair growth. DEFINITELY would recommend using it. i know its a drag loosing hair at a young age. i'm sure nuLOCKZ would be great for you. Its worth a shot atleast! If it does as well for you as it did for me then you would buy one happy camper
