I know Rogaine is very specific that it works on the crown, and does NOT necessarily work at the front on the hairline.

But what if you have general thinness in the "middle part" area? I guess it's not the most common type of baldness, but I still have my hairline, but it's very thin around the middle of my head, sort of a path of thinness right smack on top that get worse at the crown.

Is it worthwhile at all to apply minoxidil to the top/middle of the scalp, or will I just get the shedding but no results?

Thanks in advance.

Minoxidil may work on any, and all parts, of the scalp. It has for me!

The only reason that Rogaine states that it "is very specific that it works on the crown" is because that's the only area that was tested during FDA approval trials. So that's the only area they can claim it works for.
