Would love to hear any and all stories of people who use Rogaine for the front hairline and/or temples.

Used it for 2 years primarily in the temple region (since that is my only area of concern), didn't experience any further loss, yet for me the results were very minor mainly more/bigger vellus hair. It works for some, didn't seem to do much for me, other than maintaining & preventing further loss, which is a good thing I suppose.

been using it for 2 months now... well kirkland brand, not actual rogaine, but by all accounts it's the same thing.
I did a fair amount of reading about it before buying it and somehow didn't come across the fact that it isn't meant to work on the hairline. I read this in the booklet when i received the product and immediately jumped online and searched for info about whether it would work or not.
My main concern was my hairline but I have thinned quite a bit on my crown, which, obviously due to its location, I hadn't noticed as much. Anyway I did find some people saying it would work on hairline and the only reason that they don't advertise that is that it hadn't been approved by the FDA for treatment there for some reason.
So I started using it on both crown and hairline twice a day. And so far the results on the hairline seem to be better than those on the crown. I noticed definite hairgrowth around the 5-6 week mark and it's thickened as the hair has grown since then. I can't inspect my crown as a thoroughly but it seems to be working there as well, but not as efficiently. I hope that it only gets better.
The only side effect I have found is a flaking of the liquid after a few days. If you wash your hair 2 or 3 times a week then it's not a problem.
Very happy with results so far as I am only 24 and was sure i would be bald by 30. I have been using 5% Minoxidil btw

I had success in the hairline area and crown through Avacor. But Avacor isn't just minox, its equivalnt to minox+propecia. I used toppik at the same time (a concelear) and after a year I didn't need toppik anymore, I had enough density to go without it! I stopped using avacor, and 3-4 months, crazy hairloss! It takes time, if you try minox or propecia stick with it for 6-12 months before making a decision to stop it... (unless you get crazy crazy side effects)

Whole temple region has grown back over after not even 6 month of use (stacked with fin). Now the proud owner of an adolescent hairline again. 5% solution.

if minox is to be used for this particular thing, would you need to use it forever if you are also using finasteride? So If you successfuly regrow the temple region with minox, and then you stop the minox, wouldnt the finasteride maintain that hair??

austuser > I doubt it. I heard even switching minox can cause some hair loss from the other minox. wierd.
