I'm just now being brought up to speed on the whole Acell thing, however, is there any documentation of a person using their Matristem powder in the donar area directly after having a FUE transplant.

I know someone had a scar stripped cut out, then the doc applied Acell, yet it didn't receive any results...

However, for one, the doc (Dr. Jones I believe) only used the Matristem once...and two, it is a big ass scar...where there had already been a scar before.

I am curious to know what would happen if the matristem was applied right after a fresh injury in skin that hadn't previously been injured. Such as FUE holes in the donar area.

From seeing the videos and such, I don't think it can be argued that the stuff has intense healing properties (healing a severed finger with no noticeable scar, including the fingernail)...if it could make a scarless surgery that would be something in itself, even if no regrowth was seen.

Some doctors are using PRP in the donor area after a transplant and believe it speeds up healing.

If you have FUE with a smaller than 1mm punch I doubt you are going to see any scars.

I was checking into it too. It appears you can get it here without a prescription.

It's not particularly cheap, but if you're going through $10k+ what's another few hundred bucks? In the past couple days though I saw a conflicting article that it wasn't "ready" for HT treatment? I'm very curious as to what that meant, but if I was going under the knife tomorrow I'd definitely grab a box and try it.

Here's the new article:

Either way, if you're going through with it I don't see what it would hurt to slap these sheets on both donor and recipient areas if only to speed up the healing (and obviously the potential to increase count in both areas).

Slightly off topic:

Farrel I believe you had some body hair grafts done by Dr Wolf when you had your transplant, do yu have any noticeable scarring in the donor area?

The recent Acell talk has been based on nothing.

A couple crooked HT docs basically lied about the stuff and stirred the pot. Nothing more.
