Is anyone using revita shampoo. I was in GNC today and found a nice hair vitamin that seems to have a variety of good hair nutrients. I noticed they really seem to be building their hair care section. I saw many hair vitamins and they are actually selling revita shampoo now. Does revita cause scalp irritations. Also, is anyone using the product and having any type of success.

I don't know that is is specifically "revita" that is helping anyone. Ketoconazole, one of the ingredients in Revita, is definately shown to help in the fight againt hair loss. It is the same ingredient as the one in Nizoral 1%.

I don't know that Revita is more effective than Nizoral, but it is certainly not less effective. The main reason to go for Revita over Nizoral is that Revita is a much nicer shampoo product in that it smells better and leaves your hair in in a better state than Nizoral will. Nizoral may dry your hair out, but it is good for hair loss. On the other hand, Revita is just as good for your scalp, probably a little better, and it is a wonderful shampoo, as far as smell and cosmetic value are concerned.

Just my 2 cents.

Well that basically answered my question. I tried nizoral quite a few times but never stayed with it becuase my hair became very dry and scalp itchy and flaky scalp. I tried nizoral 1% only and even if i added emu oil it wasnt that good. I saw this revita at gnc and remembered hearing about it..It seemed alittle pricey but def not too bad and if it is better cosmetically and has some legitimate science behind it id give it a shot. The gnc had it on sale for $27 from a normal $29. I also noticed it has some other ingredients that may be beneficial. Any other people have experience with this product? Also, how easy is this shampoo to tolerate. It does have ketoconazole which i thought was the cause of nizorals harshness?

Infact i think the box even had a warning that if it caused scalp irritations to discontinue use. Which means some people obviously cant tolerate this shampoo.

I went thru my 2nd bottle back in March / April and haven't used it since then.

Might be my imagination, or it might be due to something else entirely, but my hair hasn't been looking all that great lately.

The only thing I've changed is not using Revita (and I've really cut  back on the Emu and Essential Oils).

Maybe I'll visit GNC!  I liked Revita while I was using it.  Remember how much they were charging at GNC?

It doesn’t cause any irritation at all actually it makes the hair softer I have used it twice daily for about 4 months, but after few weeks of usage the hair will look dull and without the regular volume you get when you shampoo your hair with Nizoral or any regular shampoo, I quit it and used a daily shampoo and 3 times a week 2% Nizoral, regardless of the hair count but my hair has much volume than when I was using Revita.

Ok...to answer the one guys question, the revita was $27 at gnc. I think if the shampoo makes hair softer and dull it wouldnt be good for me. i am a diffuse thinner so i relly heavily on how a shampoo can volumize my hair. if this shampoo causes that kind of dullness it really isnt worth it for me to use.

Curer...do you think the dullness could be from the fact that you used the shampoo twice per day?

has anyone else experience this?

neutron i dont think its the twice daily use that makes it dull, im used to wash my hair twice a day and with my daily shampoo i dont get that dullnes and on the days where i use Nizoral i get a great volume.
actually i love how my hair looks when i use Nizoral i dont know if its safe to use it everyday. maybe it will over dry my hair i will try anyway.

Got paid today and had a few $$ burning a hole in my pocket.  Went to the local GNC near work and they didn't carry Revita.

So instead of spending $27 on that - I went online and dropped $77 on some folligen therapy spray and emu oil.

Did you order right from skinbiology? If you did let me know when you get it---I'm just wondering if they still take forever and a day to ship.

I guess not all gnc stores carry the product. I was actually there today and while i was looking at the box the woman who worked there told me that they sell alot of revita. Does anybody else have comments about this product..i am intrigued about the product being as effective as nizoral but easier on the scalp...i just dont like the comment aobut this stuff making the hair dull..Does anyone think it would be bad to use the product and then do a rinse with jasons jojoba shampoo..maybe this would help the body of my hair.

Yes - skinbiology - got my confirmation e-mail right away.  I "think" i've ordered from them in the past and don't recall any probkems - but I'll get back to you when it arrives.

PS:  totally non-related . . .

Finally...somebody made some sense out of those previously unintelligible lyrics Joe Cocker sang at Woodstock in 1968, during his rendition of "With A Little Help From My Friends.  Clean but funny.  Crank it up.

I placed that order on a Wednesday morning and it arrived in my East Coast mailbox on Friday.  Pretty exceptional shipping actually.

For what it's worth, I stayed with a friend this weekend who had Revita. I used it twice and each time I thought my hair appeared better after the use. That's about the extent of my experience with it though.

Awesome! Thanks---Now that I think about it, the last time I ordered they were in the middle of changing locations or something and that's why shippin was slow--took over 2 weeks.
