I am no fan of Nioxin.

Basically in my book Nioxin is 'just another' cosmetic shampoo. It was designed for chemo hair loss or something like that I believe ....

Nioxin Cleanser and Scalp Therapy are a great shampoo and conditioner.
That "burning" sensation the Scalp Therapy gives you is a refreshing, cooling sensation.
If it really is burning up your scalp, then that’s just weird on your part.
You can't go by the "feel", you should continue using Nioxin for months.
Remember, at the start of any hair loss treatment, you can get hair fallout.

Yeah, it is a quality shampoo and conditioner for thinning hair.
Make sure you use Nizoral 2% in-between the Cleanser and Scalp Therapy every third day.
Rinse and repeat with the Cleanser on your days off Nizoral and leave the Scalp Therapy in your hair for 3 minutes.
Thats a good idea, just see where you get by the time you finish the bottles.
It should make your hair look and feel great too.
I hope you took the test on their website to find out the right system number before you bought it.

I really think you should use Rogaine as your only topical instead of the rosemary, ginger and lavender.
Also, a Centrum multi-vitamin with 2 fish oil capsules (2000 mg) should be more than enough oral supplementation.
Rogaine, Nioxin, Nizoral and Centrum + 2 fish oil capsules in my complete hair loss regimen.
I'm still not sold on other topicals and the proven orals finasteride and dutasteride have undesirable side effects.
It’s all up to you of course; I’m just trying to help you not waste time and hair from my knowledge over the past 6-8 months.
Good luck with it all.

nioxin doesn't do anything, but if you like it for cosmetic reasons then keep using it. Just know it won't do anything to regrow your hair.

Last time I checked nioxin was loaded with harsh chemicals. IMO it is garbage. You may be allergic to some of the chemicals in it. Nizoral is also packed with lots of chemicals. I recently dropped the shampoo and started using ketoconazol 2% cream at night instead. You may want to look into that more, or just use Nizoral 2 - 3x/week if it gives you no problems.

As for shampoos/conditioners that will leave your scalp in good condition, I recommend organic products. Check aubreysorganics.com, I use their green tea/nettle shampoo which is pretty soothing.
A bit pricey, but I have heard that this Text is a good shampoo that thickens up your hair better than Jason's Thin To Thick.
Jason's shampoos are also good, I only use their Tee Tree conditioner though which is good.

If you are looking for a shampoo that might help with regrowth or inhibit DHT, I suggest Nano Shampoo, the body shop's PTO shampoo Text (good for fighting inflamation) or Lamas Chinese Herbal shampoo/conditioner Text

other shampoos you might want to look into:
apricot sea buckthorn

hope this helps

Yeah, I think Nioxin is garbage too. In the past I did like some of their styling products though.

Are you saying Nioxin is a hair loss treatment?

Nizoral is the only shampoo with data that shows it can help with mpb. You shouldn't really expect much of anything from other shampoos. I rotate several for scalp health, imflammation, etc but I don't think I've regrown anything because of shampoo. I use tea tree, alpecin caffeine, TGel greasy with PO, nioxin, nizoral, and american crew w/ copper peptides.

Agreed. Nioxin has been around forever. And it has been proven a worthless hairloss treatment forever. Their shampoo is nice for cosmetic benefits but that is all.
