What is the feeling about using proThik as a concealer, does it impede the absorption of topicals? does it harm the hair follicles? Or none of the latter and it works in harmony with your hair and topicals..

What are your thoughts?

BigKaush,

I have been using Prothik for over 8yrs and found it to be the best concealer for me, simply because I am able to spray it on exactly where I need it.
I have had 2 fue surgeries and my Doc said it was ok to use it shortly after each surgery so based upon that I doubt that it harms the follicles.
I dont use it with topicals because it would be real messy.
I normally wash it out at night then apply Dr Lee's 15% minox prior to going to bed.

Never used it, but I have occasionally used something similar MILLEFOLIUM MAGIC SPRAY... It is ~$37 with S&H for a 4oz can. ProThik looks like a better deal if it does as good a job or better. I have had this can of MMS for about a year (tells you how little I use it) and it is about empty, so ProThik might just replace it.

I dont think it hurts the hair, but I would make it the last thing on (or next to the last if you set it with hairspray) if possible. Are you not wanting to wash it out for night topicals?

I shampoo my hair in the mornings and then style it and spray on Prothik.

The problem is i just rinse off the styling product at night and dont shampoo at night. Prothik is pretty good at staying after a rinse and some of it stays on my scalp, which means that the night application of topicals is what i'm concerned about, since its going on top of some Prothik.

Sorry I missed this thread before, BigKaush!

I'm a daily Prothik user, and I've been able to use it with Minox (when I remember to use my minox that is!).

In the mornings I have to apply the minox before anything else, and then obviously the Prothik goes on after the hair's dry. At night I just put a bit of minox on top of the whatever Prothik's left after my nightly brushing (I brush out my curls at night to help with tangling in my sleep).

I've never noticed an absorption problem, though it would obviously mess up the Prothik if you used it before any topicals.
