It´s my understanding that it does. I´ve heard about people who pluck or wax and get less and less hair on those areas, as the follicles are damaged. But it´s just hearsay, I don´t know for sure.

there is a condition where people pull their hair out ..... its a disorder....... and yes, those people experienced permanent hairloss because of repeated plucking. I saw it on dateline

I know someone personally with that condition. I forget what it's called but it's related to OCD and she takes Paxil for it. She pulls her hair when she sleeps and has very bad hairloss. Tried wearing a wig in junior school but everyone kept pulling it off.
I don't know if her hairloss is permanent though. She has never been able to overcome the disorder.
