I was wondering if any of you wanted to experiment on this, especially those with minimum regimen in use or those who have not added anything to regimen in a long time.

It is very cheap and water solubility is, what I found, 160g/100ml, which translates into 1600mg/ml, a very high soubility. Zyrtec/store brand eg CVS/Wags/Rite Aid, here in US are inexpensive, over the counter and come in 10mg and 5mg tabs. Thosein countries where they cant find it, check ebay to see if they will ship it to you. Do a search on "Cetirizine"

Here is how to make a topical

1. crush and grind 33 tablets (10mg each) into a powder

2. dissolve the powder in 50 ml of distilled water.

3. Let it stand for at least 24hours

4. since pills are made up of insoluble filler material and the active ingredient which is soluble, after 24 hours the active ingredient will be dissolved in the water above the filler material.

For this reason the water above the granulate powder needs to be carefully seperated and the powder discarded. This can be done using a syringe or a pipette or even a dropper?

5. add 30 ml of Ethanol (roughly 70%) to the remaining 50 ml of water.

6. finally mix with 20 ml of Propylene glycol

So, we end up with 330mg dissolved on 100ml vehicle solution. And this will give us only .33% solution. It does not appear to be super concentrated though. I am not sure what dosage/frequency people are using. But, it should be at least 1ml per day everyday. Thus, with that dose, 3.3mg will enter scalp. This is a good concentration considering that per day recommended dose for Cetitrizine against Allergy is 10mg systemic or even 5 mg; and that 3.3mg will be concentrated on scalp area only.

I think we may simply dissolve the tabs in water only and just use minox dropper to spread the water solution on scalp. I think Cet will still absorb into the scalp/skin with water (?)

The german/dutch forums have reported vellus hair growth etc after just one month.

If anyone is already trying, please let us know your input/results, and if more people wanna try this experiment?

Zyrtec not only blocks PGD2 but also triggers the release of PGE2. It should boost rogaine's effectiveness through an additional release of one of the good prostaglandins

This sounds very interesting. I think I'll give it a go, as a topical. Thanks!

Maximum 12 packs per customer. You can get 10 packs for the price of 1 (of anywhere else I could find), including delivery.

wow, great info here. it looks like the germans are on to something. will make this first thing tomorrow. this will def. reduce inflammation of the scalp, which is a big problem for me. it's always red up front, all day, every day. will try this before i'll start my tb4 regimen. amazing, because pgd2 is the true bad guy on the block.

Guys,
I have been using zyrtec in Minox for about 3 months now. I am a Norwood 5A. I have a lot of blond hairs growing but have not changed color. My original hair color was dark brown. I use 45 10MG tablets per 4 oz minox. I have not had any scalp itch in a long time. I am also injecting TB4 on my second week.

is it possible that zyrtec and minox are competing for the same target/the same purpose and therefore would cancel eachother out?

and by no itchy scalp, you mean there is also no redness/irritation of the scalp?

thank you.

i assume nothing, because it should be applied topically for maximum effect.

Hi Mysterious,

Could you explain why the Ethanol and PG are needed/used?

I had a look at the German forum and saw mention of Vodka(?) in the topical some of them had created I think.

Thanks

do some here even bother reading damned articles and journals in full or jump straight to conclusions?

pretty much everywhere I have read of this silly experiment including the german forum all that users have had to report has been massive sheds. Not ONE IOTA of document able hair regrowth. Very few have reported vellus hair let alone terminal hair all over.

But hey feel free to go ahead with that!

OP, Since when is cetrizine a PGD2 inhibitor? Its an histamine H1 receptor Antagonist. therbye, the PGD2 caused by histamine WILL be inhibited by 50%. Our AGA is probabley triggerd by other factors instead of Histamine.

the topic title is misleading. and very confusing for newbies.
