I will be receiving and starting my new treatment next week. I will be taking .625mg of fin pills everyday, shampooing 2x a week with nizoral and the other days with a biotin shampoo (with my own added Rosemary, ginger and tea tree oils infused). I will take a .25mg solution of finasteride and mix it into my minoxidil. I will quit finasteride pills depending on how well my scalp reacts to the topical fin and I may make the solution a little stronger if I go this route. If a topical like minoxidil can be as effective as it is, I don't see why topical fin wouldn't be just as effective and being less systemic would avoid the side effects for sure. I'm choosing .25mg of fin because I saw that concentration in a successful topical fin trial.

i did try topical fin in the past

after a while it builds up in blood and you the same side effects as oral basically

so you only get a few days or week of side effect free time

still, the best low side effect and high effectiveness topical are ru or cb , far better than topical fin

-------------------------
FIN 98~04
DUT 04~08
DUT + Flutamide & Fluridil ~08
DUT + RU ~09
RU only (20mg to 400mg/d 09~11)
RU+Minox 11~15
RU 20 mg/d (in 6ml Neogenic)
Now:
Adenogen
CB 03-01 25mg/d in 6ml Neo

I think that the side effects were in your head because there is no way for the drug to build up in your system. The half life is only 6-8hrs and there is no way of it building up.

El Duterino,

I did a little research into stemoydine and I really like what I have read, minus the price part. If I'm able to buy a decent supply cheaply, I'm going to add that into the regiment. I've read about RU and though it seems to be legit, it's not really cheap. I can get liquid fin (1.5 year supply for $30) or pills for the year for $30. All this hair stuff can really add up to some real $$$

Quick note: no improvements on stemoxydine. El Duterino, you win. I am going to be buying RU. But I have a few questions about dosages and things like that. I read that you want to apply a high 100mg daily topical for the first month, then do you take 25mg for the rest? Also do you need to create your own solution or can you just dump it in stemoxydine or minoxidil (Minoxidil works for me and is cheap so I will probably use that)? I read that it's not exactly a stable chemical so do you think you could mix a month worth and keep it refrigerated for a month? Fin just takes too long to work on me, it takes the pills about 7 months for the hairloss to halt and I'm not even sure that my topical fin is doing anything. Since I still have like 8 months worth of fin solution left, I guess I will add .25mg to the RU solution, why not. I found a site for 10g at $110. -Eagerly awaiting your reply

The terminal elimination half-life (t1/2z) is 4.7 to 7.1 hours; but despite this, slow accumulation occurs with multiple doses

Well in the study, it didn't even mention the dosage and considering that .25mg is extremely low as a oral dosage, it would be even less systemic as a topical dosage. It stated that doses at .5mg don't suppress much in DHT levels, so imagine what half that dosage would potentially suppress. If you took .25mg orally, you'd have .07mg accumulated after one day and topical is more efficient than oral fin (.25mg= 70% reduction in scalp DHT vs 1mg pill=50%)

Propecia has been out for 20 years and the reason why there isn't a topical product is that it may only be marginally better than oral at best, worse if absorption is not good and then you will get the same side effects after a while depending on how much you use

if you want a far more effective topical with no side effects, then CB or RU are far superior in both aspects so this discussion isn't really worth it today. It could have been an intersting option in 1998 but not anymore

CB will be available in 2018 or 2019 once the acne product is out. Until then i am using the Chinese made version that I have been using for years without issues.

Cb and Ru can block all DHT and also T at the scalp level and this works better at the hairline, better than FIN and DUT and without the systemic effects

Actually I used CB for about 6 months but could not notice any difference with RU so I am back on RU since a year ago.
RU is cheap, easy to dissolve and easy to obtain in pure-good quality form.

I only need about 15mg a day because my scalp is very porous now with all the acohol

CB is far more expensive as its harder to make apparently. Not sure what the latest prices are. Still either way, CB or RU work the same way.
CB my be harder to penetrate as its molecular weight is bigger so a porous scalp will help with a good massage while applying it

I have been using RU since 2008 on daily basis or EOD and stopped all internal DHT blockers (DUT and FIN) since about 2009 and haven't lost anymore hair at the hairline or crown so I am pretty satisfied.

Minox and Stemox are also a must in the mix , that's the best combo with zero sides for me. I had low libido on DUT not so much FIN

Well I started the topical on 4/17/17 and I've decided to stop taking the pills too. So recapping, I'm applying a .25mg fin solution with 2ml of 5% minoxidil everyday, washing my hair 2x a week with nizoral and the other 5 days with a biotin shampoo that has ginger root extract, tea tree and rosemary in it. I stopped wearing a beanie that was actually pulling my hair out like crazy and my hair is looking decent now. Now that I'm off the fin pills, I have noticed that I was experiencing some slight side effects but they quickly went away. And it felt as though the finasteride was draining my energy really bad! Cheers!

I use minox foam, the garnier version of stemox and RU and by far the cheapest part of the combo is RU

last time I ordered 10g (10,000mg) I payed like 200 USD and maybe its even less now so 1mg of RU costs 200/10,000 which is

0.02 USD and you only need about 10 to 20 mg a day with short hair - I use 15mg so that costs 0.3 USD a day

YES 30 CENTS A DAY you read that right

I store my RU well packed in the freezer and that will last a long time so I only order once every 2 years, take a bit out at a time and store in the fridge in a small bottle

you will need a precise scale to weight the amount that's the only cost upfront

That's still kinda pricey for me since I only spend about $55 on my fin and minoxidil for a year supply.... I'll keep looking, the stemoxydine is really interesting me but that's also very expensive. .

well if you can only afford 55 dollars per year for your hair then you should not even bother with these forums dude, anythting is going to cost a lot more

RU at 30 cents a day is nothing unless you live in some very poor country, and besides this is meant to avoid a far more expensive hairline hair transplant down the road

Keeping your hair is an investment, whether it be monetary or not!

If you think its pricey, $50, even $200 a year then you might as well get a buzz cut and stop caring.

I'm 22, been treating for 2 years and I've spent at least $2000 on various drugs, vitamins, oils, shampoos etc.

Adding Garnier fructise stemoxydine for (two 84ml bottles) to take a test run. Coming out of the country so might take a little time to get here.

Well I've been using the stemoxydine since like 5/20 so I don't expect anything for awhile. Stuff smells great unlike the minoxidil and my two 84ml bottles are lasting pretty well, I expect to get at least 4 months out of them. No changes so far so that's not a bad thing. Hair is doing well besides that. I'll report back in a month I guess to tell if the stemoxydine is working.

You can only get it overseas, I got mine from Portugal. By the way, no progress with the stemoxydine to report, no new regrowth so far.

I'm also gonna add minoxidil to my Kirkland to make it 10% for 3 months to see if that helps more. Where you at El Duterino?!

I would not use finesteride pills as they contain fillers, use pure lab powder.

Where's El Duterino at??? Need some creditable help here and creditable RU sources!

-Anyways here a little update:

I think I see some regrowth starting but it could also just be more follicle miniaturization, if it is regrowth, I don't know if it's from the minoxidil or the stemoxoydine.

My minoxidil powder arrived , so in a week I'm going to be making and starting 3 months of 10% minoxidil (gonna add 3 grams per 60ml in each bottle) and a 4th month at 6.5% since all I have is 10 g for a trial run.

I will be bumping my topical fin to .5mg per 2ml of minoxidil which is equivalent to 2.5mg in pill form.

-still trying to figure out a RU protocol and legit sources of RU!Been looking at purityprod but I don't know the legitimacy of that site and most of the forums I look at have fake members trying to make their product sound better.

It seems to me that I've had a little bit of regrowth, or maybe the hairs are shrinking....I don't know. Hair loss is still strong but I started my stronger treatment today, minoxidil is 10% now and fin is a .5mg solution as well. As much as I hate waiting (been 4 months so far) I'm going to keep at it with the .5mg fin and 10% minoxidil topicals until I either get sides or no results. I really wanna try RU but I gotta give topical fin the proper time to either work or not.

I'm not sure but I think my hair loss has slowed down just a little bit. It's only been 1 week with the double strength regiment but I need more time to be sure. Nothing negative to report. I'm going to try to be pretty regular with my updates, as much as possible. I'm also uping my nizoral to 3x a week from just 2 times, starting in 2 days.

Definitely have a lot of re-growth, not very strong hairs but not peach fuzz. Hair loss is still going strong, hair taking a little bit of a beating. I expect good things soon though, .5ml topical is like 2.5mg oral fin so that's a pretty strong dose! Is the stemoxoydine working? -I have no clue but seeing how much regrowth I have, it could be helping.

Where do you get topical fin---seems hard to buy in US. Is Cosmo Pharma coming out with the CB medication? Is it available now outside of U.S>

I'm not gonna name any sites because some people would think it's marketing but I buy it from a research chemical company that sells a variety of liquid research chems and research powders. Obviously everyone that buys this stuff aren't scientists. The chemicals are sublinguals but that doesn't mean it can't be used as a topical.

Blue,

How is the topical working for you? I'm really curious about topical fin, for i did not respond favorably to the pill.

Well I've been on topical fin for 4.5months now with zero side effects. Sides weren't bad on fin pills but I figured it would get worse so I switched before it might have. Takes me 7 months on fin pills at 1.25mg to get my hair loss to stop. My hair loss hasn't stopped yet, but it should in 2.5 months from now, maybe even sooner since I've mentioned earlier posts that I'm on a stronger dose.

Well boys, this might be the post you were all waiting for. I check my drain after every shower to check my hair loss rate and tonight I noticed a big decline in how many hairs I lost, I don't think I even lost 1/5 of what I normally lose! This could be the big turn around for my hair, stay tuned!

So the only thing the drug does is slow down the hair loss, and hopefully the libido stays intact?

I think it helps with regrowth to an extent but that's entirely my opinion. The minoxidil is solely for regrowth and my libidos been fine on topical.

Quick uodate: did a drain check for 3 days and it's down 2/3 of what I normally lose which is great! I seem to be MUCH more responsive to the topical. It took 7 months for the pills and 10 days shy of 5 months for the topical! Currently zero sides, been 100% normal. I don't believe my increased doses have any effect on what is currently happening to me and expect even better results in the coming months because of my fin and minoxidil dose increases.

Looks like I'm losing about half the hair I normally lose today when I checked my drain today. On fin pills, I noticed the hair wasn't falling out as much, then 1 week later it completely halted; so I hope in a few days it will have stopped completely!

I've noticed a decent amount of regrowth at my hairline (like baby hair) but not that great anywhere else. Thoughts to why the regrowth is strong at the hairline but not anywhere else really? Continuing to lose about 1/3 the hair but I'm watching it slow down before my eyes. Does anyone have suggestions either?

Well looked into a dermal roller, found one for $3, so I bought it. For $3 how can I go wrong? Adding it to the reg when it gets here.

I tested it on my forehead I had been using 5% and 15% mixture minoxidil with added additives for the past 3 years. Good results and growth, so I decided to test the derma roller around my forehead. I used 1mm every other day and applied 5% minoxidil straight after. After a few months my whole forehead was covered in so many vellus hairs. So in that theory based on my own results I now derma roll on my whole scalp every other day.

It´s the blood pressure medicine (minox) that develops hair, since it´s a side effect.
You can pour the stuff wherever you want on your body, and hairs will occur.

That's great, looking forward to trying it! I've got a pic of my front right hairline progress. It was fairly hard to see the new growth so I had to do a black and white filter which came out nice.

I'm at my 2 week mark for the derma roller, however I don't notice a difference. 1mm every other day and I roll my entire top of my scalp but I don't notice anything at the hairline. I'll keep at it though.

Well I'm not really losing much hair at all (nothing note worthy) now which is great, the amount of new hairs that have come in look like results you get from a hair transplant! Getting better every week it seems. Waiting for my demra roller to come in to add to my regiment. Going to lower my dose back to what I started with soon, just don't see the need for a high dose anymore and gonna go back to 5% minoxidil in a month and a half to 2 months. I also don't want to add to the systemic effect of the derma roller. Still waiting for a cure but this seems to be working for the moment.

Okay so here's my final review on topical fin (will continue with updates):

Is it superior? From my experience, an unresounding YES!

Oral fin took 7 months to seize hair loss and the topical took 6 months.

Had side effects on oral fin (minimal but noticeable) and zero side effects on topical!

Was taking 1.25mg fin pills and only .25mg of topical.

It's easy to apply since I mix it with my minoxidil and I choose where I want DHT blocked.

My scalp is feeling great! Regrowth is going well and my outlook looks pretty decent!

If it benefits others in any way than it can be positive.

Much of what we see out there on other forums is basically the same just using multiple screen names as a way to deceive. Most of that is directed towards enticing readers into surgery which for many might be ill advised or simply procedures meant only to generate revenue like PRP and tattooing. Some in fact leave readers worse off with several accounts of long term shock loss from PRP and mentions of cancer with tattooing. Plus much of the tattooing looks absolutely ridiculous.

What myboyblue is doing is relatively benign if you look at the big picture.

Stay away from doctors who perform mega sessions, have posts deleted, attack posters, sue patients & forum owners, use power drills or robots. I recommend fue with hand punches in the .70-.85 range. I consulted with dozens of clinics over the years and there was a recurring theme regarding FUE among some employees of those other clinics. I was told Bisanga was the man my research told me the same and my experience validated my own research.

Topcat is right. He knows from many years. Wise old putty, A couple of comments, HTs work if you are the right candidate and have the right surgeon. It takes skill and artistry---and few have it and a precious few have the ethics to match. Personally, HTs have changed my life for the positive; great results from the hair god himself in the windy city.
Now back to topicals. I am trying a fin/5% minox combo; seem to be tolerating it well Too early to tell--1 month. Not sure how much to spray; kind of haphazard, Am wondering whether Dut topical would be better? Am intrigued by derm roller. Are you recommending it? Any particular one?

Blood pressure or a prostate drug, and you can smear the shit all over your body for unwanted hair since it´s a side effect.

Treat the hair loss instead, and you will regrow your natural hair instead of unwanted.

I put 2ml of the fin/minoxidil combo on every night. As far as a derma roller, I just started yesterday and will do it every other day (1mm needles).

Not much has changed, scalp is a little itchier lately so that might be more regrowth. However still testing the derma roller out.

I've noticed a lot of regrowth at the peak of my hair! You can kinda see the waves of hair growth, it's actually getting quite dense with hair. The crown has had the second most amount of growth and the sides of the top (on each sides of the peak) hasn't seem very much improvement. I started losing the sides of my peak first but it was superficial and I didn't see much loss until exactly 1 year ago when I had aggressive loss right before I started fin pills. The peak was second to start to go, then the crown thirdly. Any thoughts on my progress? Or explanations about the sides of my peak not growing as expected?

Okay so I've done the derma roller for a month now. It's early to say anything about it still, however I do have thin regrowth that is about a quarter inch long. Could be the minoxidil but in my opinions, it would be a big coincidence and maybe the derma roller IS working.

I am still getting awesome regrowth on the peak of my hairline, I wish my entire scalp was doing as well as the peak although I am getting good regrowth at the crown but not great at the corners/temples.

Okay so going back to .5mg of fin in my minoxidil, minoxidil is at 5% now, stemoxydine ran out, continuing my dermaroller every other day. Seeing more very very fine baby hairs popping up. Temples look like they are getting slightly better. I am losing hairs still but it's at very little amounts, topical has had zero side effects so that's why I'm going back to .5mg fin which is the equivalent to 2.5mg fin pills. 8 months in and constantly making regrowth progress and I assume I'm within normal hairloss ranges. I also notice my hair is growing a little faster now.

@Myboyblue13, I went through some of this thread and came across your post about liquid finasteride. What exactly are you using? The reason I'm asking is because today I found people trying morr-f (available on ebay) who are claiming good results and with little side effects.

Current use and studies of topical finasteride such as with Dr. Victor Hasson out of Canada and Polichem are finasteride-only but morr-f is with minox and that would seem to me to be far more effective.

I'm using what is identified as a research chemical, its suppose to be sublingual finasteride but works fine as a topical. I mix my fin and minoxidil so it's more effective than morr-f since mine is .25mg/ml concentration and costs me $65 for a year supply. The math is simple to do, easy to mix and you have complete control over its concentration.

Okay guys, making another adjustment in my regiment. I'm going to only dermaroll once a week (pretty aggressively) with my 1mm roller. In a couple weeks I will be adding peppermint and lavender to my topical. Typically a 2% dilution for an essential oil topical is what's used but seeing that I'm adding two oils, I'm going to do a 1% topical to play it safe, which is 12 drops into my 60ml minoxidil. When I use up the rest of my nizoral, I will be adding ketoconazole powder to my minoxidil as well making a 1% solution since I will be using that daily. Basically making a super potion for hair! Ha! Minoxidil usually has a lot of alcohol in it so I'm not really worried about absorption problems but feedback is welcome!
