As one who was once considering this...I'd like to see how you fair. However I am skeptical about maca inhibiting 5AR in some similar way that saw palmetto or pygeum does

Well, I like the idea of the "balancing effect" maca has.

My levels are way outside the normal range, so if this can balance me out, then that is a success!

(I will need to compare my latest result with my Jan one though, as the Jan could just be elevated due to the stopping of Fin 3 months previously)

Just updating so people don't think I've run off.

Still not had test results back, doctor finds this strange but is attributing it to the swine flu epedemic and the fact that all the testers are having their time taken up by that.

As for the Maca effect - well, I can say with 100% certainty that my dreams have gone off the scale on the smut'o'meter, so for people with lowered libido, I'd say this should work!!.... only 4 days until I get to see the missus, and am very much looking forward to it ... hehe.

really interested with the whole DHT thing. Usually blood tests take about a week. Maybe 2 if you are doing AIDS or something

Yeah last time I got them back in 6 days or so ... gonna pop up to the clinic in a bit to see if anything new has come in.

The woman told me if they still aren't back then she will call to chase them up.

I think eating 3 meals a day instead of 1 would have just as much impact (or more) of the "balancing effect."

Think about it, there are tons of things that regulate hormone levels in your body, and on 1 meal a day your body is trying to help your organs function, fight off disease / build immune system, perform normal bodily functions, work your brain, and on top of all of this do you think it still has enough nutrients to help your hair out?!?

Your body is probably saying to itself, "F- this guys hair, I'm just going to keep his heart beating and his brain functioning. Thank goodness the only thing happening is losing his hair."

Now truth be told I am a complete and total hypocrit in this regard b/c I only only eat 1 or 2 meals a day as well. But just through thinking it out right here while typing, I think we stand to gain much just by doing normal things like sleeping properly, exercising properly, and EATING properly... With only 1 meal a day you seem like a busy man, so I'm assuming you don't get your full 8 hours of sleep either. I think I'm going to try for the 3 meals a day and more exercise and stuff.

For your next round of testing you should stay off the MACA, let your levels rise again, and then eat 3 meals a day as opposed to 1 and see if your levels are balanced, I bet they are. Now if this is the case, imagine MACA WITH 3 meals a day. Should strive for that my man, I know I will now.

Suppose there is no harm in giving it a go, but it will most likely turn out to be a load of rubbish like the majority of stuff hyped up on here

My libido is very high naturally, and whenever i try Maca my libido is actually lower, so it doesnt raise libido in everyone.

Results aren't lost - they should be in by next week latest

As for eating, I just don't get hungry - nothing to do with being busy! Been like this for years, though I dunno if that could cause high DHT.

However to keep your metabolism going you should eat every 3 hours. Plus your body will be much happier with the smaller meals as long as they are healthy foods.

Maca is effective when taken atleast twice daily and will need a sufficient load time in the blood stream, 60 to 90 days.

Which Maca supplement? My libido took a hit after I developed a thyroid condition. Hopefully this will straighten itself out, but I'd love a pick me up in the meantime.

I started maca 4 days ago. I,m a little afraid because, i read it could cause hair loss. For now, it,s being great. It gives you a sense of well-being.
