Hello again people

Just a totally random question/query here, I used to enjoy having a shaven head (a grade 2 all over) because it made me look quite tough and some girls liked it. Since my temples have receded a lot i have kept my hair long to cover this loss. If i had a shaven head now there would be big white skin patches either side of my head and a little at the back. Could propecia be used and minox to grow/maintain hair for a while, and then have it shaved, to give appearance of a shaven head minus the bald patches? Does anyone follow me?

I would like a shaven head but with the appearance of stubbly short hair, not just the appearance of bare flesh. Would minox/propecia or wotever hair treatment known to man restore the appearance of hair for me to be able to have a shaven head again that looks good and doesnt appear as if i'm really balding? I'm rambling here, i'll shut up now. Just a thought in my head, wondered if anyone can share some thoughts.

drinking during the day eh?...that's the start of the slippery slope to insanity my friend
i see what you're getting at...if minox works then if you have a shaven head the effects of the new growth might appear more quickly in terms of being noticeable in the overall appearance of your hair...however you'll still have to be patient in getting that regrowth first...it might be worth keeping your hair long for 6 months like i am doing, then once you're sure the regrowth that has happened has benefitted then shave the head and the terminal hairs that have grown should contribute more in terms of improvement than if your hair was longer..if that makes any sense...god i need a drink now

You brits are always looking for us americans to bail your asses out of jams. Im o.k. with that just dont come over here stealing our women. I shaved my head also--its one inch all around. Here are the benifits 1. the ladies love it 2. no fuss 3. it conceals any thinning 4. the minoxidil reaches the scalp easier and you dont have to worry about styling afterwards. 5. its a good summer time due and a generaly all around good look. Dont be a hippy like troymaclure i say take the plunge.

you know it’s a good job we brits have got a stiff upper lip and can take criticism with poise, dignity and class…..so up yer bum poo face
he he sorry enzo, your plan is good unless you have a bad receding hairline or high forehead…I say go with whatever you’re most comfortable with…I used to have my hair like Fran Healy out of Travis (before the big mohican) but now it’s a bit longer cos I got a bit self conscious that my hairline was receding…. but it’s definitely way easier to style really short hair and a lot less hassle to maintain...but to have it shaved totally depends on whether you can carry it off or not...to be honest not may balding men can.

I've never understood Fran Healy's hair. That said, a duck's arse at the front is novel.

When I started using minox I shaved my head to hide the shed. For a while it looked a bit like a loony skinhead but when the minox kicked in then it started to look good again.

yep a duck's arse is original and you gotta respect that...i actually think his hair is a good style for NW2 (minus the stupid duck's arse mohican) cos you basically keep it shortish and draw both sides in to the middle to form a little peak along the middle & front of the head...i've seen many people adopt it and believe it can hide a multitude of sins so to speak...in fact there was some dude on Blind Date with a 'do just like it last week..excpet he was blond.

My opinion on shaved heads is that a badly receding shaved head looks much worse than say a completely bare shaved head. Don't know why...

how does a shaved head look for just thinning hair or spots. I've been telling my dad to go for it for a little while, with no real idea how it would look, does it look thick or weird?

There it is: My hairline is exactly like Fran Healy from Travis.

and I can't let them grow long anymore. That's the fact I hate the most;
I can't say what hairline I would like to have...
