I would shave my head and say screw it. Only problem is, I'm pretty sure I would not look good at all and there is only one way to find out. And of course when it looks horrible, I wont want to leave my house for a month.

I don't think he looks good.
Girls are into Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, but not him.

He is also no where near as big of a movie star as Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt. Also, you named probably the 2 most attractive male actors out there. I'm not going for Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise looks. Brad Pitt has shaved his head before and I don't think girls were any less attracted to him.

A shaved head is different than a bald by genetics look.
You just look older without the 5 'o clock shadow at the top.

Girls are more into the younger male stars now.
And yes, they all have hair.

What I don't understand is why people don't get a full head HT. You cover all four zones in the top of your head with FUE, but you do a sparse amount (roughly 30+ grafts per cm2...maybe even less). You continue to shave it on a zero or one guard, and it looks good. You probably wouldn't even have to go on meds to maintain this look either.
What makes HTs look bad is the strip scar, the aggressive amounts of grafts placed into one area yet sparse amounts placed elsewhere, the continuation of baldness in these other areas giving us even more awkward baldness patterns, and the choppy, rooty effect the hair gives off when you grow it out (assuming your yield or density is not up to par).
Every HT that I've seen on this site, looked so much better when the head was shaved to a one or two guard. What I don't get is why they just don't keep it that way. It simply looks so much better.

This is probably a dumb question, but what is a zero guard? Is that when you just use the clipper itself without anything on it? How short does that make it? I'm pretty damn pale, so I don't think shinny bald would suit me well. I definitely need some stubble. Although, I'm not too sure even that will look good.

Can you guys please tell me how you define a "proper head-size" for shaving...doesn't make much sense coming from people that never did shave but assume its going to look bad..

I'm not sure its about size. I think its more about shape and facial structure. It is really hard to define a certain type, since there are multiple types that would probably look decent with a shaved head. Its more of a case by case judgment I think.

Exactly, which is why I dont understand comments from people that never shaved, so they just assume they look bad...
Well newsflash, you bet be ready to "look bad" sooner or later...

I just shaved my head with a 1 gaurd. It actually looks pretty close to bald. I discovered two things:
1) I'm not afraid of baldness like I used to be.
2) I'm very pale, but a tan, even a fake one, if you're afraid of skin cancer, is pretty easy to come by.
My opinions might change tomorrow, but I was starting to obsess over hair loss, and I began to feel like less than a man because of that. Shaving your head is pretty cheap, cheaper than hair loss products anyway. Besides, I have this sneaking suspicion that a handsome guy is going to be handsome bald, an average guy is going to look average with or without hair, etc.

But the thing is, you are focussing on one tiny little aspect of things - which is his hair. I don't know whether or not you are familiar with the concept of metrosexual men but that is how you come across, as a bit superficial and girly. You claim with authority that girls are into Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. How do you know what 3 billion human beings are into. Are you really that naive? I am going to try and not talk in absolutes like you but there is a school of thought that women are attracted to guys who are confident and masculine. Jason Statham comes across as a man's man - not some pussy who is agonising like a girl over his physical appearance and "thin hair" and criticising another man's appearance. Remember you are not a woman. Real men don't judge other men by their looks, like you. Statham has a good body and not a bad career and he is not afraid to shave his hair, unlike a lot of Hollywood celebrities who try and hide their hair loss. It is pretty obvious to me why he has not done at all badly in the past with girlfriends* but I suspect that will go over your head. * Kelly Brook who he dated before he even made it in Hollywood:-

Good post Red Rose, I really doubt Jason is hanging around this forum whining "why me?"
We are sort of losers aren't we?
By lightbulb I meant as a man gets balder, the head shape begins to look more and more like a lightbulb.

Women (age 24+) like MEN. They want someone that possess male characteristics, a deep male voice, a bit of stubble, Power (either financially or physically).
I asked a girl at work what is so nice about George Cloney and she said "ooohhh he's just a MAN, a real MAN" She also said the same thing about Vin Disel. And I'm sure, if I ask, she'll say the same about Jason Stratham.
Bradd Pitt has strong male characteristics. Very chizzeled jaw, As does Tom Cruise. They are also desired by other women which has an accumilative effect. Tom cruise is very over-rated if you come to think of it.
Girls (age 21 and under) are into boy band looking guys. Women want Alpha MEN. It's an animalistic attraction.
Go to the GYM, keep a stubble and you'll see how the ladies look... Failing that become incredibly rich.
