Bogus.

Exposure to hot water IS bad for your hair and skin though, so it is best to take showers with luke warm water if you can tolerate it. Then rinse with cold water to close the hair cuticle (to protect it from styling and environmental damage). Your hair will be healthier.

Yes hot water might be bad for 2 reasons .

1) If the scalp is having inflammation problem cold water can definetly help , hot water will worsen the condition.

2) Hot water induce seboreic glands due the high temperature to work more and consequently will make more sebum to produce over the sclap.

So the trick is to end the last washing with cold water.

Peace.

I have heard washing your hair in cold water is good for the circulation in your scalp as well. Which isn't a bad thing.

A cool rinse and luke warm water is only necessary for your scalp, right? In other words, you can scold the rest of your body if you so desire?
