hi

just wondering if there is a connection?

my hair began to turn to shit just after i was diagnosed with Irritible Bowel Syndrome. probably just coincidence and not related at all, but i just thought id ask.

let me tell you, having IBS really sucks! its painful and i have to take a dump at the worst possible places at the worst possible times. not to mention the LONG list of foods that i cant eat! if i had a choice, i would pick keeping my hair and living with IBS--wouldnt even think twice about it. but no, i have to have both, figures!

life f#%king sucks man!

tGfhs- A blood test hasn't confirmed this, but I was told there is a good chance I have Celiac disease. CD is when your allegeric to wheat, rye, barley - basically a protein called gluten. The only cure is to go on a gluten free diet. Gluten is in a lot of f'n foods, its even in my 2 favorites beer and pizza. I started this bullsh*t diet this past Monday and it pretty much sucks.

To answer your question, my opinion is that there is definately a connection between digestive problems and hairloss. Especially in our cases since we both have diffuse thinning. I am going to start and do some research on this.

I feel your pain brother!

The obvious link I see here is inflammation...Read Dr. Sears's Zone books (which aren't a "DIET"). I have been a hybrid of this and the Okinawan Program for years and I can honestly attribute my extraordinary health to this lifestyle.

BTW, used to have stomach problems too...for me it was taking too much advil...

I have problems with my bowels. I aslo suffer from inflimation of the eye and acne that seems to be getting worse. I also have a slightly elivated prolactin level, but I don't need to take medication for it.

Isn't life great?

Your acne is indicative of a hormonal imbalance. If you feel this is the cause - I can point you in the right direction of a natural progesterone cream in a liposomal base.

If you want to try an alternative and its just your back your worried about. You could look into Epilobium , (Vit A , Zinc, Sulphur) topicals or even some laser treatments(Nu lite) that seem to have a healing effect.

I mentioned this, specifically for female hormonal imbalances.

I can only speculate, but your type 1 may well increase whilst taking an inhibitor which has more affinity with type 2. Epilobium will block type 1 aswell as type 2.

A few years ago I was prescribed some birth control pills that worked very well to get rid of the acne. But the pills made me sooo sick I had to stop taking them.
