Hi guys,

I read somewhere that salicylic acid can be used like retin a. It can help with the absorbtion of minoxidil. Is anybody else using salycilic acid? I've used it w/in Scalpicin, and I like it so far. The retin a I use must be bunk considering that I feel no peeling/burning/ sensation when placed on my skin.

Is 3% the typical amount of salicylic acid you guys use? Are there less expensive altenatives to scalpicin?

I know sal. acid is used to control excess sebum and so will cut back on the oiliness of your hair but I've never read about it helping with the absorption of minox. If you don't feel that retin a is working for you, you should try hydrating your scalp. It'll increase the absorption and I'll bet you feel it on your scalp.

Morfo
I use a salic acid shampoo called ""ionil t plus "" for at least 10 years .
I started it much before any treatment for hairloss . Today i think it helped a lot in those days.
It is a very good element to an oily hair and scalp. But i wouldnt use it every day it can be too harsh. Yes i guess it help with absorb. without any peeling effect. Also if you use it , be carefull with the sun exposure.
I use 3 % salic acid . Regarding retin a , i would go for a minimun porcentage and put aloe after it. Retin a is much more than a peeling agent... so i would try to stick to it if i was you .

peace.

Hey guys..... I've been using T/Sal for a few years now...... about 2 times a week........ Its made by Neutrogena. Its good for keeping sebum down..... as far as its ability to help with Minox absorbtion, no idea. You are right though Against Wind........ salicylic acid can tend to be harsh if used to frequently. Take care.
